A few years back, Lego began offering a set called Lego Ideas that allowed users to submit ideas for new sets. The top ones are then put through rigorous processes to turn them into official releases. These new designs allow fans to create models that are exceptionally detailed and not available in other sets. This led to the creation of the Voltron set. The set lets players build five lions made of mechanical parts and then – after a bit of reassembling – join them to create the legendary Voltron.
This homage to Japan’s most well-known mountain also includes a fan-created set. This set is massive and comes with a variety of unique details that you’ll not find in any other set. It’s also an excellent way to show your love for Japan.
This tribute to Star Wars is another impressive creation. The set includes the most iconic weapons from the Star Wars series, plus a lot more than you’d typically get in the typical set. It’s one of the best sets we’ve seen in many years.
Since quite some time, professional Lego artists have produced impressive Lego creations. One of these artists is Mariann Nathan, who has been working as a freelance Lego designer for several years in the past. Her portfolio includes everything from replicas of famous landmarks, to a life-size pirate and four-foot ladybug.
David Hughes is another notable Lego artist who has recreated famous works of art in brick form. He has a piece of Afternoon of a Faun on sale, but be warned that it’s not cheap.
